Group Fitness Classes are currently available on a per-use basis with online pre-bookings essential. No bookings or payments are taken on site. All current memberships remain on suspension until further notice, with no direct debits being charged. This is a temporary initiative following the State Government's easing of restrictions.

Please refer to the Group Fitness Timetable for your class duration.

What is available in your Group Fitness Booking:

  • Change Rooms
  • Showers
  • Main Gym Floor – Cardio and pin-loaded equipment. Free weights.

Please be sure to abide by the following directions:

  • Please bring your own towel (no towel = no workout), water (fountains not available) and gym mat if required.
  • Please wipe down equipment before and after every use.
  • Please follow the directional signage.
  • Please keep a 1.5 metre distance between yourself and other patrons. 

The following are currently not available (under review with re-introduction date TBA):

  • Joining on a new Gym & Swim Membership.
  • Gym fans
  • Steam Room and Sauna Room
  • Crèche
  • Lockers
  • Personal Programs and reassessments
  • Water fountains.

Gym Workouts, Lap Swimming and Personal Training are not included in your Group Fitness booking and must be booked separately.

    Freestyle Classes

    Body Weight Conditioning

    Cardio and Conditioning class that incorporates your body weight for a full range of exercises including push ups, sits ups, squats, lunges, sprints, and jumps.

    BTT
    Combination of free weight, small weights and band class to attack the lower body, targeting those problem areas the Butt, thighs and tummy.

    EPIC45 Cardio
    Functional, cardio and plyometric session that aims to maximise your effect level over an extended 45 minute duration. Push your limits using a bodyweight and cardio exercises. EPIC45 will have you burning fat, building lean muscle and will take your fitness and strength to a new level. Get ready for an EPIC workout.

    EPIC45 Power
    Functional, cardio, plyometric and strength session, designed to improve your strength and cardiovascular fitness, and build lean muscle. This class uses weight plates, step and bodyweight exercises. EPIC45 will have you burning fat, building lean muscle and will take your fitness and strength to a new level. Get ready for an EPIC workout.

    Flex, Sculpt and Tone
    Sculpting muscles with dynamic circuit that works on both upper and lower body. Using Bands, body weight and small weights.

    Lower Body Blast
    Packed with sculpting and toning exercises to target the Butt, Thighs and Core. Blast the lower body with squats, bridges, kicks, lunges and so much more.

    Step Conditioning
    Step Conditioning expect a mixture of cardio and conditioning exercising using a step, with option of weight, exercises will include step ups, lunges, squats, and jumps. Combining in some weight plates, push ups, and burpees, making a full body workout.

    Total Body Strength
    This workout will strengthen every part of your body and leave you burning calories for the rest of the body.

    Total Upper Body Burn
    This class is an upper body strength workout to help sculpt those key areas of biceps, triceps, back, chest and shoulders, using a combination of body weight, bands and light weights.

    Ultimate 45
    This full body strength and cardio workout will give you all the benefits of a strength workout, mixed cardio and with athletic drills to keep your endurance on point.
    Ultimate AMRAP
    AMRAP “As many reps / rounds as possible” In this class you will be performing as many reps or rounds as possible in the allocated time. This class will push you to your limits and help you to build muscle and improve muscular endurance, cardiovascular health, and conditioning.

    Cycle Classes

    Schwinn
    Experience a unique workout that simulates the real-life cycling feel of an outdoor bike in a controlled, hard-pedalling indoor environment. Adjust resistance levels in continuous increments and you’ll burn calories while feeling like you’re riding through rolling hills.

    SPIN
    These freestyle spin classes are set to test your fitness using intervals, power climbs and other means. These classes will push you to new limits every time.

  • Terms and Conditions: Individual Gym Workout

    Effective Monday 29 June, 2020 until further notice

    From Tuesday 9 June 2020, you will be able to enjoy an individual workout in the Gym for weights training and cardio equipment. Please note that the Centre must keep patron numbers within the capacity guidelines as directed by State Government. We therefore request that you read the following terms and conditions before you make a booking.

    Booking policy

    1. You can make an online booking under the following categories:

    a. Member: For those that hold a valid Gym & Swim membership at the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre.

    b. Casual: for individuals who do not possess a valid Gym & Swim Membership

    2. On-line bookings are required prior to arrival. To avoid contact, we will not accept payments at the Centre.

    3. You must be at least 16 years of age to train in the Gym. Existing members who are 13-15 years of age AND have completed a Gym Personal Program (Induction) may use the Gym.

    4. Payment is required to confirm your booking.

    5. Refunds and cancellations are not available.

    6. Bookings open seven days prior to the session commencing and close one-hour prior. Reschedules can only be made to any existing booking no more than two-hours prior to the session commencing.

    Restrictions

    7. No locker access is permitted. Belongings are not to be left in change rooms but should rather be moved around the facility with you. Please leave your valuable personal items at home.

    8. SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre takes no responsibility for storing any personal belongings brought into the Gym.

    9. Only the main Gym is accessible during the Health Club booking.

    a. The Strength & Conditioning Studio and all other spaces, except for Lap Swimming, remain suspended.

    10. Patrons should bring own water bottles. As per SA Health Guidelines all water fountains are currently turned off. 

    Social distancing, safety, health and hygiene

    11. The patron is responsible for adhering to social distancing, health and hygiene guidelines:

    a. Always keep a 1.5 metre distance between yourself and others.

    b. Adhere to assigned entry and exit points

    c. Stay home, do not attend your booked session and seek testing if you have cold or flu symptoms.

    d. Wash your hands often and cover coughs and sneezes

    e. Shower with soap and water at home before arriving

    f. please wipe down equipment before and after use. Wipes will be provided in the Gym.

    12.The patron must adhere to the standard Conditions of Entry to the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre (view them here)

    13. Vulnerable and elderly people with chronic health conditions should speak to their doctor about what is appropriate for them.

    14. Bring a large towel to your workout. There is a strict "no towel, no train" policy.

    Health Club Individual Workout Procedures

    15. Please arrive at Main Entry 5 minutes prior to your session commencing.

    16. Patrons may arrive at anytime during their booked session, however there will be no carry over into the next session.

    17. Two-hour bookings are available from 22 June 2020. The two-hour booking consists of two hours in the facility, commencing on the half-hour. Gym staff will provide instructions on how to exit the Centre close to the end of each session. Patrons must depart the centre prior to the next session commencing.

    20. Late arrivals must work out within their booking hour and cannot carry over into the next hour.

  • Terms and Conditions: Group Fitness Classes

    From Monday 22 June 2020, Group Fitness will be available. Please note that the Centre must keep patron numbers within the State Government mandated quota. We therefore request that you read the following terms and conditions before you make a Group Fitness Class booking.

    Booking policy

    1. You can make an online booking under the category of Group Fitness. If you are on PC or Lap Top, hover over each session on the booking tool to see the type of class in the session. If you are on a mobile or tablet device, please refer to the timetable provided on the same page for class names.

    2. On-line bookings are required prior to arrival. To avoid contact, we will not accept payments at the Centre.

    3. You must be at least 16 years of age to participate in Group Fitness Classes in the Gym. Existing members who are at least 13-15 years of age AND have completed a Gym Personal Program (Induction) may use the Gym. The minimum age to attend HIIT, HIIT Strength, Epic 45 Power, Epic 45 Cardio, Ultimate 60, BodyPump, Kettlebell Express, Strength & Tone, Strength Technique & Conditioning classes is 16 years.

    4. Payment is required to confirm your booking.

    5. Refunds and cancellations are not available.

    6. Reschedules can only be made to any existing booking no more than one-hour prior to the session commencing.

    7. No locker access is permitted. Belongings are not to be left in change rooms but should rather be moved around the facility with you. Please leave your valuable personal items at home.

    10. No fans are available for use in the Gym and Group Fitness Studios due to SA Health Guidelines

    b. Adhere to assigned entry and exit points

    e. Shower with soap and water at home before arriving

    f. Please wipe down equipment before and after use. Wipes will be provided in the Gym.

    g. Instructors will give specific instructions as to which equipment to use, along with how and when to clean it.

    Group Fitness Class Procedures

    15. Please arrive at Main Entry 10 minutes prior to your session commencing.

    16. The Group Fitness Class booking consists of one Group Fitness class in the facility, commencing at the scheduled time. Gym and Group Fitness staff will provide instructions on how to exit the Centre at the end of each session. Patrons must depart the Centre prior to the next session commencing.

    17. It is recommended that patrons bring their own mats.

    18. Patrons will be checked in at the Main Entry before being directed upstairs to the Gym.

  • Terms and Conditions: Personal Training

    Effective Monday 29 June, 2020 until further notice

    From Monday 15 June 2020, one-on one Personal Training in the Gym will be available. Please note that the Centre must keep patron numbers within the limit of 80 per venue as mandated by State Government. We therefore request that you read the following terms and conditions before you make a booking.

    Booking policy

    1. You can make an online booking under the following categories:

    a. Member, 30-minute, one-on-one: For those that hold a valid Gym & Swim membership at the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre.

    b. Member, 30-minute, two-on-one: For those that hold a valid Gym & Swim membership at the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre.

    c. Member, 60-minutes, one-on-one: For those that hold a valid Gym & Swim membership at the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre.

    d. Member, 60-minutes, two-on-one: For those that hold a valid Gym & Swim membership at the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre.

    e. Non-Member, 30-minute, one-on-one: For individuals who do not possess a valid Gym & Swim Membership.

    f. Non-Member, 30-minute, two-on-one: For individuals who do not possess a valid Gym & Swim Membership

    g. Non-Member, 60-minute, one-on-one: For individuals who do not possess a valid Gym & Swim Membership

    h. Non-Member, 60-minute, two-on-one: For individuals who do not possess a valid Gym & Swim Membership

    i. Existing Personal Training Pack: For individuals who have an existing Personal Training pack.
